"boombox" (d/e)

was macht man, wenn man aus dem gefühlten sommer kommt (urlaub macht's möglich) und hier statt der erhofften frühlingstemperaturen um die 20°C nur max. 13°C mit nieselregen hat? als schönwettermotorradfahrer sucht man sich andere projekte. aus dem 'keller aufräumen' wird ein 'ach - was'n das? - da war doch mal - ich wollte doch mal - das hatte ich schon lange vor"- da baut göttergatte aber doch schnell mal eine BOOMBOX ...

what do you do when you return from (felt like summer-) holidays and instead of having great warm spring-time-temperatures here freeze in the drizzling rain? as a fair-weather-biker you go downstairs and clean up the cellar. and you find this and that and remember long delayed projects "oh, I always wanted to do that" - and suddenly your fella is constructing a BOOMBOX...

phase I

2x lautsprecherboxengehaeuse von ca. 1980
1x verstaerker aus dem roten Ascona [jaja, die opel-gang ...]
1x holzbrett
2x lautsprecher aus dem schneider-turm von ca. 1980
2x neue lautsprecher
1x ikea-box
2x mopedstrappen (zurrgurte)

fertig ist die boombox :)

wird wohl doch nicht ganz so mobil wie gehofft, aber immerhin

take: TT600-battery, charger, old and new loudspeakers, amplifier, wooden board, ikea-box, load restraint assembly - ready is the boombox. not as mobile as predicted but who cares?

erste hörprobe mit vibrierendem subwoofer - das wummt!

der verstaerker der anlage ist kaputt...
fast 30 jahre hat er durchgehalten - bekommt man sowas heutzutage noch?

noch ein bisschen an der software friggeln, dann soll's das gewesen sein. hatte ich erwähnt, dass aus 12-volt-mobil jetzt eine 220-volt-wohnzimmer geworden ist? mit festplatte, selbst gedengeltem an-aus-knopf für den verstärker, zugang für die bass-verstellung (wenn's denn not tut), reset-knöpchen...

die hörprobe sagt: geil! da hört man plötzlich sachen, die hätte man gar nicht erwartet. alles klingt ausgewogener, voller, runder, echter... wie mag das wohl erst klingen, wenn der onkyo aus der reparatur zurück ist? hammer! (und wie mag das erst mit einer profi-anlage klingen?)

ein kleines bisschen stolz bin ich schon auf meinen kerl ;)

as good as done - yet a little software-tinkering, that should be enough. did I mention that the boombox has grown from a 12-v-mobile-box to a 220-v-parlour one? including an own hard disk, self-made on/off-switch, access to the bass (if this should ever be necessary), reset-button... our audio-test says: YEAH! we hear things on the songs we have never heard before - balanced, entire, pure sound. what will this sound like when the good old onkyo is back? (and what would it sound like with a professional construction?)

I'm a little proud of my fella, that's for sure ;)

das ist übrig - da kann man doch noch 'was draus basteln? vielleicht eine mobile boombox? ;)
